Dr Michael Zhao
Michael’s passion for orthodontics began early in his dental career while working alongside orthodontists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons and paediatric dentists in Christchurch, New Zealand. It was there that he discovered a specialty that combined science, artistry and the opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients and their families.
He later completed his specialist orthodontic training at the University of Melbourne and has dedicated his career to helping people smile with confidence.
For Michael, orthodontics has always been about people. He enjoys getting to know his patients and their families, building lasting relationships and helping them smile with confidence for a lifetime.
Alongside clinical practice, Michael has spent many years teaching and mentoring postgraduate orthodontic students at the University of Melbourne. Sharing knowledge and helping shape the next generation of specialist orthodontists is something he considers both a privilege and an important way of giving back to the profession that has given him so much.
Outside the practice, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife, Florence, and their two young boys, James and Lucas. Whether it’s kicking a football around the backyard or playing a game of chess together, family remains at the heart of everything he does.
Dr Andrew Clark (retired)
Originally established by Dr Richard Edwards, the practice continued to flourish under Dr Andrew Clark’s care for more than 30 years, becoming a trusted part of the Gippsland community.
Andrew cared for generations of Gippsland families with kindness, humility and unwavering dedication, taking the time to know every patient and treating each one as an individual.
Although Andrew retired in 2024, the values that shaped the practice continue to guide us today. We believe in taking the time to know our patients, treating every family with kindness and respect, and always striving for the very best outcome.
